The Pancake Rocks walking track was fantastic and the Blow Holes were amazing. The Truman Track through native bush was awesome. Cafe reasonable and pub good but expensive food and drinks. Spectacular rock formations all around the area.Raincoats recommended - you never know when it will rain.

We loved our visit to Punakaika rocks and worth a detour. We liked the house except we are too old for having to go up and down steep stairs during the night. We were not warned about this. We ate at the local scenic hotel and this was reasonable and pleasant

The Pancake Rocks are overwhelming beautiful, almost an alien place on earth. We went there at the end of the day (low tide) and came back in the morning (high tide). The power of the waves was incredible.

What a delightful natural attraction - the pancake rocks are incredible. The garden tavern is very welcoming and the food was good. We stayed in the cute beachfront cabin and could walk to the beach, the pancake rocks, garden tavern and info centre from there. The Pancake Rocks Cafe needs a good shake up, the pancakes were terrible - undercooked and the banana was bad.

Great option for a short one night, or even longer stay. The small compound of self contained units was very lovely. Even though all the cottages were occupied, it was peaceful and I could have sat out on the deck for much longer to enjoy the sound of the waves on the beach. We ate at the main hotel/restaurant in a lovely secluded garden. Even though it's right on the main road, the garden gives you a sense of peaceful tranquility. There's not much to do in the area, but for sure a 1 or 2 night stay is perfect here. We had room #10 & it was absolutely perfect

We visited the Rocks along the road - always an interesting visit, and spent a lot of time in Barrytown for a friends wedding. Always take mozzie spray or insect repellant! We took our own breakfast items and ate out the rest of the time - the pub at the other end of the village has a good range of food as does the cafe at the Rocks
